Webinar – Biomethane impurities – understanding impacts and cost-effective management

October 7, 2024

10:00am – 11:30am (AEDT) Tuesday 22 October 2025

As Australia gears up for a growing biomethane industry, please join our latest webinar focussed on how to cost-effectively manage biomethane impurities such as siloxane, oxygen and nitrogen. By better understanding impurities and how they may be tolerated by the system and appliances, industry can develop the most cost-effective solutions.

To prepare for the wider injection of biomethane into gas transmission and distribution pipelines, Future Fuels CRC and the University of Melbourne are completing two research projects on biomethane contaminants and their interactions with existing pipeline impurities and end user equipment.

Project RP3-2-09 Biomethane impurities

Project RP1-4-07 Biomethane injection into the gas network impact of impurities on the performance of end use appliances

Please join our University of Melbourne researchers to understand the impacts and the management techniques needed to enable the wider use of biomethane in Australia:

Prof Sandra Kentish

Prof Mohsen Talei
