11:00 – 12:00 Thursday 21 November 2024 (Syd/Mel/Can)

Join Nguyet Ky Ngo, University of Adelaide for this webinar on techno-economics of the production of hydrogen and derivatives for the gasification of agricultural residues and wood processing waste. This PhD research project RP1-10-07 included developing an assessment of solar hybridized dual fluidized bed gasifier for Hydrogen, Hydrogen carriers and Fischer-Tropsch liquids.

The research includes:

  • Assessment of solar-hybridised gasification of agricultural residues with biochar co-production
  • Comparison of the cost and energy requirements between conventional and solar-hybridised gasification processes
  • Understanding the value proposition for the production of high-purity hydrogen, FT liquids, and methanol
  • Identifying suitable locations for a solar biomass gasification process based on biomass availability and solar resources (with a selected case study to be presented)

This project covers the risks, challenges and economic benefits of using hybridised solar gasification for production of Fischer-Tropsch fuels, hydrogen and hydrogen carriers from agricultural and wood processing wastes.

The webinar will be followed by a Q&A session with Nguyet, joined by Michael Simoni, GHD and David Norman, CEO of Future Fuels CRC (host).

This webinar is only open to participants of Future Fuels CRC, so please use your organisation’s email account when registering.
